    As soon as you report your claim to us, we assign it to one of our adjusters. This person is responsible for investigating the claim, which may include such duties as ordering a police report, contacting everyone involved, interviewing witnesses, having damaged property inspected and verifying insurance coverage. In most cases when you report your claim to us, we will carry out an “appraisal” of the damaged property or vehicle. An appraisal is simply an inspection of the damaged property to determine the amount and extent of the damage. The person responsible for this inspection is an “appraiser”. The adjuster will work with all involved parties to reach a settlement.
